چکیده

Abstract Superabsorbent hydrogels were prepared from biodegradable material, where the matrix was cross-linked cellulose and carboxymethyl reinforced by quaternized tunicate nanocrystals (Q-TCNCs). Due to large amount of hydrophilic groups on cellulose, Q-TCNCs, had excellent water absorption capacity. The equilibrium swelling ratio superabsorbent exceeded 500 g/g in deionized 120 even synthetic urine, which higher than those commercial absorbent materials composed copolymers acrylic acid acrylamide. performances mechanical properties could be adjusted changing content Q-TCNCs. resultant expected replace polyolefin-based materials, thereby reducing environmental pollution.

Synthesis and Swelling Behavior of pH-Sensitive Semi-IPN Superabsorbent Hydrogels Based on Poly(acrylic acid) Reinforced with Cellulose Nanocrystals

pH-sensitive poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) hydrogel reinforced with cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) was prepared. Acrylic acid (AA) was subjected to chemical cross-linking using the cross-linking agent MBA (N,N-methylenebisacrylamide) with CNC entrapped in the PAA matrix. The quantity of CNC was varied between 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 wt %. X-ray diffraction (XRD) data showed an increase in crystallini...

Simple approach to reinforce hydrogels with cellulose nanocrystals.

The physical crosslinking of colloidal nanoparticles via dynamic and directional non-covalent interactions has led to significant advances in composite hydrogels. In this paper, we report a simple approach to fabricate tough, stretchable and hysteretic isotropic nanocomposite hydrogels, where rod-like cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are encapsulated by flexible polymer chains of poly(N,N-dimethyl...

Synthesis and swelling behaviors of carboxymethyl cellulose-based superabsorbent resin hybridized with graphene oxide.

Well-dispersed graphene oxide sheets were successfully incorporated into a superabsorbent resin through in situ graft polymerization of acrylic acid on carboxymethyl cellulose backbone in the presence of graphene oxide as filler. The structure and properties of the resultant superabsorbent resin were studied in detail by means of a variety of characterization methods. The influence of the feed ...

Synthesis, characterization, and swelling behaviors of a pH-responsive CMC-g -poly(AA-co-AMPS) superabsorbent hydrogel

New superabsorbent hydrogels were synthesized through free radical graft copolymerization of partially neutralized acrylic acid (AA) and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS) onto carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) backbones. The structure and morphology of the synthesized superabsorbent hydrogels were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microsco...

Application of rod-shaped cellulose nanocrystals in polyacrylamide hydrogels.

Rod-shaped cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) were manufactured and used to reinforce polyacrylamide (PAM) hydrogels through in situ free-radical polymerization. The gelation process of the nanocomposite hydrogels was monitored on a rheometer using oscillatory shear. The chemical structure, morphology, swelling property, and compression strength of the formed gels were investigated. A possible mecha...
